Feldberg im Schwarzwald

Another #wheredidingresstakeyoutoday #selfie . This time: The #feldbergturm at the top of the highest mountain in the #blackforest  with 1.493m .

You can go up to the platform which lifts you up another 45m . From there you can have a great view of the black forest and the alps with their heighest mountain the #montblanc . Going down to the base you can visit the museum of the famous #blackforestham .

At least they say so. When I was there, it was snowing, snowing and snowing. So the view was very limited and the museum was closed in the winter season.





But that was the reason I went there. The tower is a portal for the AR-game #Ingress and I took it from the #resistance and claimed it for the #enlightened .

The consecutive days #Germany was visited by the winter storm #Friederike . Thus the lifts were shut down and hiking up to the hill would have been a rather tough task. So this portal could have been a good anchor for a big field.

Unfortunately the same weather condition prevented me to leave the small city at the bottom of the lifts . If you don‘t have to drive anywhere you shouldn‘t dare driving the steep and snowy streets just for fun. The radio was continuously reporting new car accidents.

So I didn‘t bother building a big field, but built a small multilayer at the last day of my stay.

At least one link goes from one top of a hill to another - none of them with accessibility by car. So taking it down will take somebody who is willing and to go beyond #cargress .

Since it‘s a very popular winter sport area I don‘t think it‘ll stay for more than one or two weekends. But I don‘t mind. This is what‘s at the core of our game - get out and play!
