My faith in Wayfarer reviews got restored a little bit: My submission for a historical anti aircraft gunsite got accepted (Flak Stellung Rondorf, Intel-Link ). ⁣⁣A bunch of Wayfinder submissions for „Zwischenfeldbauten“ - remnants of the Prussian fortification ring around Cologne - were declined beforehand. I submitted them while I had a guided tour with @andreasroland_alten a from CRIFA ( Cologne Research - Institute of Fortification Architecture ). These sites are rather unknown to the public, hidden in the woods from any sat view and have no information signs set up. So I wasn’t really surprised when one after another site got declined. Not surprised, but still a little bit disappointed (more about this tour is covered in this German blogpost ).

It's gone. The [redacted] scanner is gone. Ingress stays. The Prime scanner is only a tool in a whole ecosystem around this Niantic game. This blogpost is about the things beyond the scanner and I'll tell you a big secret at the end. Ecosystems evolve through change. Some veteran agents used the shutdown of the old scanner as a breaking point to leave the game. The game and the vivid community were a huge part of their life in the past years but now they decided that it's time to move on and to seek out for new inspirations. That's absolutely legit and a sound decision. In order to give them and the [redacted] scanner a worthy goodbye we did a farewell event 09-29-2019 in Cologne (see my Instagram Highlight story for some impressions).

Hello #gamescom2019 ! Yesterday the world’s largest event for computer and video games opened its gates to gamers in #Cologne, Germany. Agents HakuinHu, NaAntok and @Nelkon  welcomed this event by anchoring two #ingress fields in the South of Cologne. Actually there weren’t just two of them but 24 layers which yielded 300.000 green mind units. Because its main fields got rebuilt after a RES takedown the next morning it summed up to a half Million MU.

I did another castle tour in the Rhineland. This time I had the privilege to be accompanied by agent 54m . Shortly after sunrise we climbed on the mountain Drachenfels (dragon‘s rock) . It is a renowed romantic destination. Several legends surround the Drachenfels, most famously that Siegfried – the hero of the Nibelungenlied – killed the dragon Fafnir, who lived in a cave in the hill, then bathed in its blood to become invulnerable. Hence, the hill is named the "Dragon's Rock". This poem made the place more famous: The castled crag of Drachenfels Frowns o’er the wide and winding Rhine. 39w Subway station Heumarkt or the warp core of the NCC-4711 Colonia? While going for some portals in the heart of Cologne I came by our newest subway station. Since you can't play Ingress in the underground I wouldn't have descended into the station itself. But at the entry is a glass box with remains of the Roman age. This became recently a portal thanks to #OPR . Then I saw the awesome architecture which hid under our city. Do you like it?

Pyramids are majestic and mystical structures. Consisting of 6 triangles (4 at the sides, 2 joint at the square base) they surely are the favorite shape of any #Ingress agent. I knew about the pyramids of Egypt or Mexiko. But I didn't knew there is one right in the middle of the German City of Cologne. After we found out, we planned our urban expedition to explore this awesome thing as carefully as any of my operations: We found a date to meet, exchanged GPS coordinates, went there and climbed up to the top. That's all.

Privacy, industry and the GDPR. While a lot of brave agents went to gather in Camp Navarro and Castle Kaltenberg, some agents had explored another regions. The first part of my recent Ingress adventure was a little fielding operation. Agent +Judith Antonowitsch need another 40k mind units to get her silver tier illuminator badge. So agent +Alexander Ritter and I joind in and we built a little multilayer in Cologne, covering the area between the quarters of Bocklemünd, Braunsfeld and Müngersdorf. There was no big planning ahead. We used an existing derp link between two quarters as a baseline, cleaned the quarter of Bocklemünd and set up four layers that added up to missing 40k MU.

Oh wow, #IngressMissionday #MDPlusCologne at July 14th 2018 has really rocked the weekend in Cologne. I've met hundreds of cool Ingress agents and had the opportunity to take great pictures. Moreover this weekend provided me a platin SpecOps badge, a gold Missionday badge and a bronze Cassandra Neutralizer badge (70 liberated portal until silver). This proposal resonated in many #Ingress communities. Wordwide over 100 green stars lit up our world (global sitrep: https://plus.google.com/+ClaudiJa/posts/E8DHtuHGpdj ) . In combination with the stardust of the meteor, which our planet was crossing, they produced an exceptionally enormous amount XM that surely helped mankind to evolve further to a higher level.
