Hohensyburg
After helping building a big green #Ingress field over the Netherlands and Germany ( https://plus.google.com/u/0/+AttilaRadnai/posts/UNvqrtFBRLx ) I had to drive home 200km (sitrep for the +blackbullmouse Stephan Field is coming soon(tm)). Not an easy job. Checkpoints at Saturday 3 a.m. are tought since you have to work the day before and stay up until the field is built.
Thus I was rather tired and had to take several rests in order not fall asleep on the highway. So I chose to combine the necessary rest with some unique captures and nice view.
For this I chose the hill Syberg at a more rural part of +Dortmund. With an elevation of about 250m it offers a nice view over the home area of +Borussia Dortmund.
It's home of the casino +Spielbank Hohensyburg . Since it was closed so early in the moning (it's Germany, not +Visit Las Vegas, baby) the only game available was to play around a little with my reflection in windows. So I can present you a cool 4-times-selfie without any fancy instasnappyfilter.
Another landmark is the Syburg , a castle complex of the Lords of Sieberg. It was constructed on the grounds of a former Saxon refuge, which was conquered in 775 by the Franks under +Karl The Great . Today it only consists of ruins. But this promises free & easy access and a high density of portals. This aristocratic hood obviously attracted the L1 Res-Agent with the name lovely "EdelSchlampe" (German for 'upper-class bitch'). She was the one who attacked my portals there some hours later. But firing level 1 XMP versus Level 8 resonators isn't very effective. Come back in a week when the have decayed or contact your local ingress community. If you look and behave just a little like +Anja Edelschlampe there should be a lot of young men willing to assist you in any thinkable way.
The third point of interest is the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Memorial which is dedicated to the former emperor Kaiser Wilhelm I. I was lucky to visit it right after sunrise so it got bathed in golden light. The monument shown isn't the original one of 1902. It was rebuilt in 1935 by the Nazis in a more cubic style to match their more aggressive style of art and architecture. They even replaced the plaque with the build date of 1902 with 1935. So faking facts or portals isn't a new invention by #fakenews or OPR-contributors.
After this inspring walk and a little powernap in the fresh clean air of a sunny morning I felt awake enough to drive safely back to Cologne. There I fell in my bed and slept like a stone ... until the chief of our local volunteer fire fighters woke me up 3 hours later. But that's a different story...
